Shootout at Orchard Boulevard leads to the arrest of suspect

Seattle, WA – December 27, 2024: During what seemed to be a routine traffic stop, an SPD cadet was shot and injured when the suspect exited their red Pickup and opened fire on him striking the cadet in his leg.

Three additional SPD officers began pursuing the runaway suspect as he made a right onto Park Street. One officer successfully pit-stopped the suspect when they were attempting to make a turn on Independence Parkway.

The Suspect attempted to make a last-ditch effort to get away from law enforcement but was quickly bean bagged, tackled, and put into cuffs.

No officer on the scene was willing to have an interview with our reporters.

Not much further information was provided by law enforcement, and the identity of the suspect is still unknown, but the wounded cadet was able to make a full recovery and is expected to be back in the force in the following days.
